Chef Sonthaya Kaewpradit, a native of Thailand, currently serves as the Executive Chef and teaching instructor at the The Chedi Phuket, a luxury 5 star hotel and one of Thailand finest hotels located on the Pansea Bay on Phuket Island.  His culinary background includes time at many 5-star restaurants and hotels throughout Thailand.  He has been with the Chedi Phuket for 7 years.  In 2008, Sonthaya was one of 18 celebrity chefs from around the world featured at the Sagebrush Classic in Bend, Oregon.  One of the finest fruit carvers, Sonthaya's understanding of Thai cuisine and blending the distinct Thai flavors has made him one of the finest chefs in all of Thailand.

Concert Rock Violinist Aaron Meyer and Chef Sonthaya met in Phuket, Thailand n January of 2005 five days after the December 2004 Tsunami when the two were paired together to collaborate for an impromptu authentic Thai dinner and benefit concert to raise money for Tsunami victims.  Aaron was hired to perform in Thailand in December 2004 at a New Year's Eve Concert at the Four Season's in Chiang Mai.  While Aaron was on the airplane, the Tsunami occurred.  Aaron and Sonthaya collaborated for two more very grand follow up Tsunami benefit concerts on the beach at The Chedi Hotel in 2006 & 2007 raising money to rebuild schools on Phuket Island.
